Wyrd & Wonder 2024 - Movies and TV Shows I Want To Watch This Month

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my potential watchlist for   Wyrd & Wonder 2024  (a month long celebration of all things fantasy co-hosted by Lisa @  Dear Geek Place , imyril @  There’s Always Room For One More , Ariana @  The Book Nook , Annemieke @  A Dance With Books , and Jorie @  Jorie Loves A Story  (artwork by  Ehtisham Sajid ),.  I've got quite a few fantasy movies and tv shows on my watchlist and I think I've got some great watching ahead of me.  I can't say that I'll make much of a dent in them, but I'll give it my best try!  If you like, you can check out my announcement and tbr post here .  You can check out my list on Letterboxd as well, if you like. Movies The Little Mermaid (2023) - These Disney live action remakes can be kind of hit or miss, but I've heard some pretty positive things about this one. The Lord of the Rings (1978) - I love the Peter Jackson movies and I've been meaning to try this animated movie for quite

Wyrd & Wonder 2024 - Announcement & TBR

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my tbr for  Wyrd & Wonder  (artwork by  Ehtisham Sajid ) which is a month long celebration of all things fantasy during this month of May.  It is co-hosted Lisa @  Dear Geek Place , imyril @  There’s Always Room For One More , Ariana @  The Book Nook , Annemieke @  A Dance With Books , and Jorie @  Jorie Loves A Story .  I always love participating in Lisa and imyril's Sci-Fi Month in November and I've loved taking part in Wyrd & Wonder these last couple of years.  It's such a cool way to challenge myself to read more fantasy.  Anyway, I have a lot of good stuff planned around my part of the internet this month (perhaps even a giveaway as a grand finale) - and a lot of my regular weekly posts will have a distinct fantasy flavor.  You can follow the Twitter account for this  here , Bluesky . and there's even a Discord server called Otherworlds to keep track of all the chatter this month.  Without further ado, let&#

Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge 2024 - April Update: In the Woods & the sun and her flowers

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope everyone's been doing well.  I've now completed 8 tasks for  Book Riot's 2024 Read Harder Challenge .  The tasks I completed this month required me to read a  “howdunit” or “whydunit” mystery   and to read an indie published collection of poetry by a BIPOC or queer author.   I selected  In the Woods  ( Dublin Murder Squad  #1) by Tana French  and  the sun and her flowers  by Rupi Kaur  respectively.   Read on to see my mini reviews and my plans for next month: ❋   ❋  ❋ In the Woods  ( Dublin Murder Squad  #1) by Tana French  is a book I had high expectations for, but it just kind of dragged for me.  I really liked how it started off, but it started to lose me a bit as it went on.  Maybe it should have been shorter.   I don't think I'll check out the rest of the series.  My review is also on Goodreads . ❋   ❋  ❋ the sun and her flowers  by Rupi Kaur  is a poetry collection that I've had my eye on for awhile now.  While this autho

12 Books 12 Friends Reading Challenge 2024 - April Update

Happy Monday everyone!  Today, I'm sharing my April update for the  12 Books 12 Friends Reading Challenge 2024 .  In April, I managed to complete 1 book for a total 9 out of the 12 books.  Without further ado, keep reading to see my thoughts on the book I read in April: Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane  had been on my tbr for way too long and I'm glad I finally decided to try it. It's been ages since I've read anything from him, but this felt quite cinematic.  I'm glad I listened to the audiobook because Robin Miles did a fantastic job bringing it all to life. I can't quite say I actually liked any of these characters, but I was quite impressed with the story itself. My review is also on Goodreads . Are you taking part in this challenge?  Have you read this book?  As always, thanks for visiting my blog and perhaps even commenting down below!
